We are a private family with a 35-year-old special needs daughter. We are looking for a high-quality individual to be a support person to our daughter in the home for daily activities and out in the community. Our daughter participates in volunteer jobs and recreational activities, as well as exercising at the gym. She is an animal lover and volunteers 2X per week at a rescue farm. She also volunteers at the Food Bank in South Bend. She is very sociable and is enjoying life! Our daughter is deaf, wears hearing aids and uses speech and sign as well as an augmentative device for when she is ordering in a restaurant with people that do not know sign language. We are seeking a person that can make language and learning an important focus. We are willing to train the right person if sign is not currently a strength. Our daughter is really growing in language and learning in great ways. Past experience with special needs is important.



This position pays $24.16 per hour. Health insurance is not currently offered, but that may change in the future. A driver’s license in good order and a safe, reliable vehicle is a requirement as it will be needed to take her out into the community. We compensate for any fuel costs you may incur. We are ideally looking to find a person that can work up to 40 hours during the week, typically a Monday-Thursday from 8:30AM to 6:30 PM. We are willing to consider you if these hours don’t work as we may have to hire a few people instead of one if needed to fill out the week. Other hours may also be available, so please apply if you think you might be a fit.

We have been hiring CLS staff for our daughter since 2007. The State of Michigan pays our workers directly and handles all taxes and payroll for these services.
